Avigena Test

FAQ

You can order the test now through your healthcare provider. A system is being developed to have to set up an in-house ordering process.

The average turnaround time is around 4 weeks, but testing might take up to 2 months.

This test is not currently reimbursed by many insurance companies, but some companies do cover the tests.

Avigena has partnered with a CLIA- and CAP-certified laboratory to conduct the test. The lab adheres to stringent regulations designed to protect patient privacy and genetic data. You can trust that all patient data will be securely stored in a HIPAA-compliant manner.

Test and Report

The Test

Avigena’s PRS tests are noninvasive saliva/blood collection tests that are ordered at your healthcare facility or ordered online and shipped to your home. Patient blood/saliva samples are processed at one of Avigena’s CLIA, CAP laboratory partners. Results are delivered by Avigena through a secure portal within 4 weeks.

The Report

The reports include an ancestry-informed prediction for precise scoring based on each patient’s unique genetic ancestry, age-dependent risk modeling to show how risk changes over time, translation of PRS percentile to risk estimate, and recommendations to mitigate risk based on national guidelines.
